The sideshow that is the Philadelphia Flyers goaltending situation took a surprising twist Monday morning: according to multiple tweets, Brian Boucher will get the start in Game 3 with Michael Leighton getting the nod as the backup. Sergei Bobrovsky will be a healthy scratch.

Bobrovsky was not given a locker stall in Buffalo according to CSNPhilly’s Tim Panaccio, thus implying that he will sit and 2010 playoff hero Leighton will be on the bench tonight.

Bobrovsky was yanked from Saturday afternoon’s contest after surrendering three goals on just seven shots. Boucher stopped 20 of 21 shots faced after taking over in the first period. Still somewhat of a surprising move here from Peter Laviolette and co. to drop their rookie netminder down to third on depth chart. The Flyers and Sabres have won a game a piece as the series shifts to Buffalo tonight.

  1. why does the home screen link for thescore.com say micheal leighton starting in goal?

  2. Buffalo is going to blow them away with lightinhg speed, and fierce confindence. Flyers don’t have a chane. But maybe just maybe they might have a little of that old philly luck. Wait and see. Hope Buffalo wins
