
Winnipeg streets flooded with hockey fans after Thrashers sale reported
We know that a deal between Atlanta Spirit and True North Sports and Entertainment isn’t done yet, but that didn’t stop Winnipeg hockey fans from hitting the streets for a little celebrating. Portage and Main took on a party like atmosphere after Stephen Brunt’s premature report hit the wire, we just hope this celebrating doesn’t end up all for naught.
Bruins take 2-1 series lead over Tampa
Tim Thomas and the Bruins shutout the Lightning by a final of 2-0 to take the lead in the Eastern Conference Final. Thomas made 31 saves, including 15 in the final period, to record his first shutout of the post-season.
David Krejci opened the scoring in the first period, and would take this big hit from Marc-Andre Bergeron just over 16 minutes later:
Bergeron was assessed a 2-minute minor for elbowing, although there didn’t appear to be any elbow involved in the hit. Guy Boucher went ballistic and it was awesome:
