Guy Boucher’s decision to run with Mike Smith in goal for the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 5 was the goaltending story of the night, then Tim Thomas sprawled to his right to keep a one goal lead intact with an improbable save on Steve Downie at 10:42 of the third period.

Smith and Thomas both fought off traffic in front and made key saves as the pace picked up in the final frame, but none was bigger than this:

The Bruins added an empty netter to take Game 5 by a final of 3-1, Game 6 goes Wednesday in Tampa.
