A press conference will be held at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba at noon ET Tuesday where a “significant community announcement” will be made.

True North Sports and Entertainment, the ownership group reported to be in negotiations to purchase the Atlanta Thrashers and relocate the team to Winnipeg for the 2011-12 NHL season, has called a Tuesday press conference to make a “significant community announcement.”

The media event will take place at noon ET at the MTS Centre arena in Winnipeg. NHL.com and NHL Network will carry the press conference live.

    (Only two things for sure: it’ll be Manitoba and no “Jets” in there. Although I bet they wear Jets throwbacks as their thirds)

  2. They should name team the Jets, although its not the same orginization but they have too. and when Quebec gets a team agains it’s gotta be the nordiques.

  3. To put this in perspective the last live game I got to see Byron Dafoe was the goalie, Vitali Yachmenev was the future of the franchise and Larry Robinson was the coach.
