It’s official, the Ottawa Senators will make it five coaches in four seasons by naming Paul MacLean as their new bench boss on Tuesday. MacLean takes over from Cory Clouston, who was canned in April after a disappointing 13th place finish in the Eastern Conference.

MacLean was working as an assistant coach in Detroit for the past six seasons, and has held head coaching jobs in the IHL and UHL.

Does that look like the face of a man that will take any behind closed doors shit from Bryan Murray?

  1. When is Bryan Murray gonna take the fall for this pile of crap known as the Senators. When your best player is a whiny bitch named Spezza your in trouble right off the bat.Good luck Paul ,your gonna need it.

  2. Quite sure Paul wore #15 and shot right in Winnipeg.

  3. This is Larry Hopkins who played for the Jets from 1981-1983. He was on an OPeeChee card with Paul MacLeans name in the 1982-83 set. Not this picture but a side face view – probably worth some $$.

  4. @Ken K.

I think you’re right, and we’ve posted that O-Pee-Chee card here before. Getty Images spit this photo out on a Paul MacLean search. He’ll be forever linked to Hopkins, I guess.

  5. [...] errorHats off to Ken K. for noticing this in the comments section yesterday, but the image atop our Paul MacLean story from yesterday is actually a photo of Larry Hopkins. Getty Images returned said photo on a search for Paul MacLean [...]
