The Florida Panthers are running a rather unique promotion heading into the off-season in which fans can submit their predictions of what the 2011-12 roster will look like. We’re dead serious. The entry that most closely resembles the Panthers actual opening day lineup will win a jersey signed by the team.

Via Panthers’ official site:

We’re giving you the chance to put your own version of the 2011-12 Panthers team together.
Decide on who the Panthers will sign in free agency, trade for or draft and tell us who will be taking to the ice when the team opens their season in October.
One person who gets their lineup to most closely resemble the opening night roster will win a team-signed 2011-12 home jersey.

We couldn’t resist putting a submission together, and we’re totally shooting the moon with it for no good reason:

Book it, that’s the winner right there.

That’s right, Brad Richards will be miffed by the lack of interest from the Tampa Bay Lightning and he’ll sign with Florida out of spite. Ed Jovanovski clearly loves the south’s warm sun so he’s a sure bet to make his way back to Sunrise, FL. Jean-Sebastian Giguere will act as Tomas Vokoun’s replacement and defy both his health and natural decline… at least until Jacob Markstrom is ready.

What would your 2011-12 Panthers roster look like?

  1. Ville Leino? On the 3rd line? In florida?

A superstar like Leino will be going to somewhere like PIT-WSH-NYR to the 1st line, earning something like 7.5-9M $ / season.

  2. Um, yeah… you may have taken this too seriously.

  3. Lol @ Leino making 7.5-9mil a season, the ONLY way he would make that much is if everyone in the league refuses to sign with Florida but him and we’re that much away from hitting the cap floor.

  4. Fine way of explaining, and pleasant article to obtain data regarding my presentation topic,
which i am going to deliver in college.
