Just a couple of months into retirement and it seems as though Mark Recchi may have found himself a new interest. The 43-year old unveiled his first tattoo, which is a not so subtle reminder of the three Stanley Cup Championships he won as a player over 22 seasons in the NHL, located on his lower leg. Recchi spoke to BostonBruinsTV about the inspiration for his ink, and how Andrew Ference hooked him up with a Calgary artist for his first foray into body art.

Recchi has plans to commemorate his World Championship, World Junior Championship, and a 1989 Turner Cup victory with Muskegon Lumberjacks of the defunct IHL. In addition to adorning his body with memories from his hockey career, Recchi plans on getting tattoos with his kids’ initials.
