The summer of Sean continues.

Russian media reports couldn’t bring down Sean Avery, and now it appears that the LAPD can’t either. According to a report from TMZ, Avery will not face any charges following an August 5th incident in which he allegedly shoved a police officer.

Via TMZ:

We’re told the officer who made the battery report did so after his foot was caught in Avery’s front door — and multiple witnesses have corroborated the story.

According to sources, police don’t believe it’s appropriate to charge Avery — and agree the matter would be best handled by an informal meeting with the L.A. City Attorney, who’s expected to officially close the case … without prosecution.

So Avery didn’t fight the law and won. This is good news for one of the NHL’s most polarizing figures who, according to initial reports, taunted officers and went as far to shove one. Juuuuust a misunderstanding, apparently.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next Sean Avery smear campaign…
