That kind of day.

Steve Mason is one of the more maligned goaltenders in the National Hockey League. We know this. From the day he won his Calder Trophy and proceeded to gradually flame out, he walks, talks, and skates out there on a nightly basis, and sometime between his locker room exit and his skates hitting the ice he transforms in “SuperBust: Goaltending Wonder.”

I’m saying this in jest, of course, because I think Mason could actually figure it out over the long term, but he is not great at all right now.

In this video we see Mason on the bench immediately after being pulled from Saturday’s 6-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Mason is seen yelling at someone in the direction of his interim head coach, Todd Richards. Was it is coach or is he yelling at a fan? Aaron Portzline claims it was a fan but, boy does it look like it was Richards.

Take a look at the incident.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but Mason absolutely needs a change of scenery. For better or worse, he needs to get out of Columbus ASAP.
