Not that this is all that scandalous or anything, I just think it’s hilarious:
Earlier today, rumours came out that the Edmonton Oilers had made Ales Hemsky a contract extension offer worth $10 million over two years.
And that’s when the Calgary Flames official Twitter feed took the Battle of Alberta to the internets.
Enjoy.
The tweet has since been deleted.
Prediction: wrong account selected on TweetDeck. I do it all the time, so I feel for the guy.

And don’t look now, but #FlamesTwitter is starting to gain traction as a hashtag….

Looks like someone forgot to switch accounts :)
Apparently the Blue Jackets Twitter account is also having a surprisingly sarcastic day.
Funnier than Stajan at $4,500,000 or Bouwmeester at $6,600,000? I don’t think so.
This is a little funny……Ales Hemsky,…this is a lot of money for a guy that scores under 20 goals.????
I thought the Tweet Deck mix-up too. Still, you’d expect *slightly* more professionalism from an NHL team’s account. Pretty hilarious incident though.
Next thing the Oilers account is going to be getting DMs from the @NHLFlames account saying “You won’t believe the nasty rumours people are saying about you!”
Stajans 4.5 mill is gross, but im pretty sure its a jfj contract that was kindly sent to cgy when suter spread his cheeks to move Dion to Tor
