Epic cartoon character by day, goaltender by night

It has been a bit of a rough go for James Reimer this year, no? He came in as the savior of Leafs Nation from a year ago after a spectacular end to the season and started his year off in style as he looked to pick up where he left off. Then a concussion happened and everything went off the rails. It has been a disaster.

Reimer played a solid game between the pipes for the Leafs on Thursday night as he turned aside 34 of 35 shots. I’ve made my feelings about Reimer known before on here – Coles notes: I’m a fan. – and I think he’ll be back to where he began this season come next year which is good news for the Leafs if they ever plan on making the playoffs again.

He went full throwback tonight with a beauty toe save against the Lightning.

All this being said, if I’m Leafs Nation I want a little more Fail for Nail and a little less cross crease toe saves against teams from the Southeast division.

Do you think Reimer can return to his 2010-11 form?

  1. Maybe it’s just me, but it looks like Purcell just hit the puck into Reimer.

Although I do agree that it looks impressive!

  2. Plethora of games on last night with potential playoff implications and we get multiple Leafs post….classic Canadian media. I’m not even a Flames fan and there hasn’t even been a peep about Sven Bartschi’s awesomeness yet.
