Occasionally in this sport players toil in obscurity, and David Booth conveniently fits under that heading. With the Panthers he was a pretty effective goal scorer – not Matt Moulson obscure effective, but effective enough – and had he gone through the brunt of his career with a little more luck and a little less injured list time, I’d have to think he’d have rounded into an even better player by now.
In tonight’s season finale against the Oilers, Booth undresses Jeff Petry and scores on Devan Dubnyk to help ice a victory for the Canucks. It’s a dandy goal.
That’s one of the nicer 16th goals of the season you’re going to see.
