After a one-sided opener, the Senators will look to even up the series against the top seed in the Eastern Conference before heading back to their home building for the next two games.
- Craig Anderson was solid in a game that saw some shaky moments for the guys in front of him. Had he not made some clutch saves the margin of victory could have been much greater for the Rangers. He’ll need to pick the Sens up if or when they falter all series long so game one was encouraging.
- Henrik Lundqvist was pretty much himself in the opener as he nullified most of the good chances the Senators put towards him. As he goes, the Rangers go. That will not change at any point this playoffs.
- No new injuries from either side. No returning players to the lineup from either side.
