Bruins up 1-0 thanks to the guy on the left

The first game of this series was a grind it out affair that required Chris Kelly firing a laser beam into an impossible location to beat Braden Holtby and the Caps. This game is just as likely to be another tightly checked 1-0 game as it is a free wheeling one.

Fact Facts

- Holtby was strong between the pipes for the Capitals, making 30 saves and several very difficult ones at that. The Kelly goal was an unfortunate way to lose a game but there shouldn’t be any concerns about the goaltending for Washington with Holtby in net. After Kelly’s goal he has allowed eight goals in his last six games.

- Tim Thomas wasn’t tested very often early but did well to fend off the Capitals in the third period as he made 10 saves, more than the seven total he made through the first two. The Caps have been preaching the need to create more offence but I’d hate to be the person banking on Thomas having an off night in the playoffs.

- The Capitals will once again be without Michal Neuvirth and Tomas Vokoun for this game and there is no timetable for their return. Neuvirth is believed to be closer to coming back and should be in the lineup at some point this series. John Erskine is also out of the lineup for Washington.

- David Krejci didn’t skate for the Bruins on Friday because of neck and back soreness after he was crushed by a pane of glass during the Bruins game one celebration. At last word the Kool-Aid man has not been arrested or charged. Tukka Rask and Adam McQuaid aren’t quite ready to return just yet as far as we know.

Expected lines are believed to match those of game one:
