If you didn’t notice after yesterday’s posts, Twitter is a great source for breaking news. This story here isn’t exactly “breaking” at this point, but still, I find it crazy interesting: apparently Bobby Ryan is available again:

I’m not gonna beat around the bush on this one: that is A) stupid of Anaheim, and B) amazing for everyone else. If I were a GM I’d be like one of those people in a Boxing Day mob (or Black Friday in the US) trying to grab electronics when the store first opens up: GET OUT OF MY WAY ITS MINE.

Bobby Ryan turned 25 in March, and in his last four seasons has scored 31, 35, 34 and 31 goals (131). The 31 on this year’s low-scoring Ducks team might be his most impressive goal total to date. Sometimes teams just have crappy offensive years for a myriad of reasons, and everybody’s stats get pulled down together.

As I saw somewhere on Twitter, it doesn’t matter if your team doesn’t need a winger – there are eight per team, and not one of them (including Anaheim) couldn’t use a great player with a lot of quality years ahead at a $5.1 million cap hit through 2015, who also happens to be a pretty well-liked, problem-free guy, from all accounts.
