I know how it is, Mr. Strome. Every summer I was told to put on 10 or 15 pounds. It’s hard work, and frankly, it makes being a skill guy more difficult for awhile. Being bulky is something that takes some getting used to.

Strome is coping marvelously though – he’s leading the OHL in scoring by nine points, despite his recent weight gain which, according to Hockey Canada, has him up a thousand pounds or so.

Best of luck to him in shedding that weight.

  1. 1000 pounds or so? Would that mean he’s normally clocking 890-ish?

  2. They tried to enter the weight in ounces. Which means he’s only 118 or so, and seriously needs to hit the gym.

  3. He’s a hockey blogger not a mathematician, sheesh.

  4. And somewhere, Kyle Wellwood just lit a celebratory Twinkie.

  5. Laughing my stupid butt of at this. Thank’s Jason, I needed the pick-me-up.

  6. Seeing that number I can’t help but think about Charles Wang’s Sumo Wrestler in goal idea.

  7. These kids are monsters..especially since they’re forwards.
