Mike Komisarek earns $4.5 million a year for both this season and next, and the Toronto Maple Leafs just won’t use him. They’ll use Mark Fraser, and Korbinian Holzer, and John-Michael Liles and any number of any other defenseman, but they just won’t use the guy. Today they put him on waivers.
Komisarek also has a no-movement, but here’s Darren Dreger of TSN with some news:
Komisarek has waived no-move clause. He will report if claimed. If not willl report to Marlies.

Komisarek hasn’t been having a whole ton of fun here in Toronto, only finding himself in uniform for four games this season. Mike’s a good guy, and a legitimate NHL defenseman. Only question is if anyone is willing to take on that salary. I’m guessing his teammate’s last tweet was in some way a reference to him:
All that matters is what u do next

Or possibly their losing streak, what do I know?
Anyway, everyone would benefit from him getting picked up by another team. The Leafs would gain cap space, and he could himself back on the ice.
