Colorado Avalanche v Phoenix Coyotes

Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith, who made his return to the lineup Saturday night against the Colorado Avalanche after suffering an upper-body injury against the Vancouver Canucks back on March 21st, took out some frustration (even though he had a shutout working) after Cody McLeod’s stick ended up in his crease after a few jabs at the netminder.

Here’s the video evidence.

  1. I can’t wait for the day where this guy REALLY snaps during a game.

  2. I don’t blame him, that was pretty hard poke…

  3. Mike Smith deserves his own tag. He is certifiable.

  4. Smith IS a little nuts, but that was a seriously late poke by McLeod.

Completely understand why Smith would have snapped.

  5. tough guy couldn’t break the stick? too bad he was already prone on the ice, the severity of that poke would have drawn an exceptional dive from Smith.
