HOTH Meme: Classy Couple

HOTH Memes is a new feature we’ll be doing on the Houses Of The Hockey blog where we take internet memes (no matter how big or small) and put them into some sort of hockey context.

From Know Your Meme:

In 2008 photographer Tom Wilson was approached by a couple requesting a portrait taken of them together, when asked what type of picture, they replied “something classy.” This picture is the result of the photo shoot.

To say hockey is a little slow right now would be a bit of an understatement. Somewhere between Sidney Crosby still being concussed and someone still not buying the Phoenix Coyotes, Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff announced that they are expecting their first child via her Facebook page. Awww.

With two inexperienced baby makers taking on the responsibility of raising a child, and the HOTH blog with our recurring Meme feature, I thought it would be a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.

From Know Your Meme:

These photos derived from instructions on how to take care of babies. The instructions have a good and bad side to them and they contain the general ideas of taking care of a baby.

We thought swapping out the characters faces for those of Mike and Hilary would both help them once their child arrives and also validate our use of “Dos And Don’ts Of Baby.” Enjoy.

We’re back during these dog days of summer with another wonderful podcast. Today, Scott Lewis, Sean Tomlinson and Scott Herkes are joined by the wonderful Buddy Oakes from Preds On The Glass to discuss the recent Webber pay day and the future of the Predators. We also go into depth about the dire situation in Long Island with Islanders and we finish up with a few stray thoughts on Doughty, Ovechkin and Sharp. Oh yes, we’ve got it all.

Please make sure you leave your opinions in the comments section. There’s probably going to be a lot of stuff you disagree with. Also, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter (@HOTHnews), join our fan page on Facebook and of course, subscribe to the podcast for free on iTunes.

HOTH Memes: UNITIИU

HOTH Memes is a new feature we’ll be doing on the Houses Of The Hockey blog where we take internet memes (no matter how big or small) and put them into some sort of hockey context.

Last week we started our “HOTH Meme” series with an installment of “At first I was like…” This week, as we continue on our mission to make things uncool, we unveil our new HOTH Meme:”UNITIИU”

From KnowYourMeme:

UNITINU, also spelled UNITIИU, refers to any mirrored image in which the subject has been photoshopped to appear quite ridiculous in bilateral symmetry.

We’re back! After a much needed break following the Stanley Cup Playoffs and all the shenanigans at the Entry Draft and more so, free agency, Scott Lewis, Sean Tomlinson, Rick Moldovanyi and Scott Herkes are back for another Houses Of The Hockey podcast.

On today’s show we’re fortunate enough to have Travis Hughes from SB Nation’s Broad Street Hockey on. We talked to him about the current question marks hanging over the Flyers next season. We also talk a lot about realignment, restricted free agents and which teams did the best/worst now that the free agent frenzy has settled.

After an entertaining game seven last night (if you were were cheering for Boston, that is), Scott Lewis, Sean Tomlinson and Scott Herkes go at it one last time on the daily playoff podcast. We look at last night’s game, the hardware, Roberto LeBrongo’s final games and the select few ever-classy Vancouver patrons that decided to run around and burn stuff like total idiots after the game.
