Last night the Detroit Red Wings took down the Chicago Blackhawks for a second straight game to move ahead 2-1 in the series.

The Bruins won in overtime for the third time this post-season, utterly dominating the Rangers in the extra frame before Patrice Bergeron found an open Brad Marchand on a rush, who batted the puck under Lundqvist’s out-stretched pad. Only one series was in action last night in the NHL (we’re getting perilously close to that time of the year where some nights there’s none), and that was the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings Game 1. The Blackhawks beat Detroit 4-1, and it was never really all that close, despite being 1-1 in the third period for awhile. Hell, Chicago outshoot their opponent 42-21. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m am generally against the use of the word “epic,” but goodness me, that Bruins win last night feels like a good time to use it.

So that happened

The Bruins became the first team in the history of the NHL to overcome a three goal third period lead to win in Game 7. Hell, only one team in the history of the league has ever overcome a two-goal third period deficit (Montreal in 1979 against Boston). Read the rest of this entry »
