Backhand Shelf Podcast: The Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup

Sorry about the spoiler of a headline – maybe you had already heard?

Specifically, we talked about:

Backhand Shelf Podcast: Ratings, Marlies got hosed, Game 5, & the longest beerability talk ever

Seriously, that heading ain’t no lie – “beerability” made up half the show today. It was a ton of fun.

But, we also talked about actual hockey. For example:

* NHL ratings aren’t great, going to get worse on Saturday due to Heat/Celtics

* The Toronto Marlies (AHL) lost in OT on a crazy bounce while a player was offside

* Who’s going to win Game 5 (I’ve got a two-game “nailed it” streak going, which will likely end with picking Dwight King to score the GWG in OT)

* Adam Deadmarsh has to stop coaching due to post-concussion syndrome

* Paul Maurice is going to coach in Russia

* Game day routines/preparation

* Beerability. We talked about the Sutters, drinking games, kegstands and the concept of “Beerapacity” (tolerance, basically)

Backhand Shelf Podcast: Adam Henrique scores GWG, the champagne will have to wait

I usually avoid vertical photos, but, y'know, Adam Henrique shaved in a mustache.

Today’s podcast is worth a listen solely for the “Rob Pizzo is an idiot” montage that John Noon put together, but there’s also some good hockey talk. Rob, of course, is not an idiot, but Noon and I both made a correct prediction on the same day, therefore…Pizzo’s an idiot.
