It’s yet another Raptors preseason game we can’t watch (legally) in Canada as they take on the Chicago Bulls — who are most certainly not investigating the suspicious manner in which Carlos Boozer allegedly broke his hand after tripping over a gym bag. Nevermind that the injury is a “boxer’s fracture” which typically happens as a result of punching something. Everybody knows Carlos is an inherently honest dude, right? You’d have to be blind not to trust him at his word… oh, wait.

The Bulls are 1-2 so far this preseason and their leading scorer is none other than Kyle “Lights Out” Korver (I just gave him that nickname) with 16.3 points per game while shooting 53 percent from the field and 57 percent from three-point range. That three-point shooting is no fluke — he made a league-leading 53 percent of his trey attempts last season, breaking Steve Kerr’s single-season NBA record for accuracy in the process. It’s early, but the three-year, $15 million contract he signed this off-season is looking like a pretty good value right now.

For the Raptors, this would be a good time for Andrea Bargnani to break out of his early slump after two putrid performances to open the preseason. Over his last six regular season games against the Bulls, he averaged 20.6 points and 6.7 rebounds on 50 percent shooting.

Start time: 8:00 PM ET
Channel: Comcast SportsNet Chicago
Possible starting lineups
Toronto: Jose Calderon, DeMar DeRozan, Linas Kleiza, Reggie Evans, Andrea Bargnani
Boston: Derrick Rose, Keith Bogans, Luol Deng, Taj Gibson, Joakim Noah

Today’s pregame music is a song I’ve been playing seemingly non-stop on my iPod since I downloaded it last week: “Rainbow in the Dark” by Das Racist. Don’t be alarmed by the weird name, these dudes are ridiculously amazing lyricists. If you have recommendations for future pregame songs, drop ‘em in the comments.

  1. Just FYI – the address doesn’t redirect here yet. (At least not for me).

  2. DanH: I’m aware. I’m not sure what the problem is. I’ve asked our IT guys to look into this, so hopefully it will be resolved this week.

  3. RaptorBlog directed me here – imagine my surprise at the new, clean layout. Welcome to the 20th (sic) century Scott.

  4. Scoot seriously i did not know you were nazi next time be careful with your politc ideas, hahaha just joking!!

  5. Of course, no problem to call himself racist when – and if – you are a mixed blood of unimmaginable roots. As long as you’re not blond with blue eyes….

  7. terrible taste in music, scott

  8. @chris: You can’t say that unless you offer up a suggestion for a future game thread so that I can judge your apparently excellent taste in music. No song is going to please everyone, so I’ll put up what I like in these threads unless I get decent suggestions.

  9. why isn’t the score linking to this anywhere on their blogs page?

  10. @dadog: Clearly, they’re ashamed of me. Actually, it’s complicated. My boss is conflicted about having this be the only team-specific blog on the site. We agreed that I could host the blog here with the condition that it not be part of the main blog page. That might change in the future, but I’m not too concerned because Holly and I can get the word out about this on Twitter.

  11. Scott,
Please don’t listen to Chris. You have excellent taste in music. The track by Das Racist was pretty sweet. May I suggest Howling for you by The Black Keys or Angry by The Bug.
