A few weeks ago, to much fanfare, a 67-second trailer emerged for NBA TV Canada’s special, The Jonas Valanciunas Story.

If there’s one thing we know about ourselves as Raptors fans right now, it’s that we just can’t get enough of the Lithuanian sensation that is Jonas Valanciunas. The Raptors organization and its marketing staff are obviously aware of this, and have released a newer, longer preview of the upcoming TV special, this time showing glimpses of interviews with Lietuvos Rytas representatives, coaches and players, as well as an interview with fellow Lithuanian and future Raptors’ teammate, Linas Kleiza.

While the first trailer focused on Valanciunas’ passion for the game and Lithuania’s love for basketball in general, this preview focuses on Valanciunas’ celebrity status in his native land and how the young big man stays grounded and focused through it all.

Here’s the link to the new trailer for the special, which now has an official name, “Centred: The Jonas Valanciunas Story,” and air date (March 20). The title alone excites me, as it reminds us that the team has a young, potential franchise centre for the first time since drafting Marcus Camby in 1996.
