Random thoughts

  • The Pacers beat the Raptors 90-88 in Toronto’s home opener on October 31, when George Hill scored the winning basket with two seconds left in the fourth quarter.
  • Indiana won four straight over the Raptors, and their last seven matchups in Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
  • The Pacers are favored by nine points in this game. I’m not a betting man, but coming off the Raptors’ triple-overtime marathon last night, I would think the smart money is on Indiana tonight.
  • With Danny Granger on the sidelines, the Pacers have struggled to generate offense — they’re 26th in offensive efficiency and tied for second-last in field goal percentage.
  • In the first season of his new four-year, $58 million contract, Roy Hibbert is averaging 8.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.6 blocks while shooting 38.4 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from the free throw line. He’s on my fantasy team, of course.

  1. The way Jonas is playing it’s like he wasn’t a part of a triple overtime game last night…

  2. This game is really reinforcing the Bargnani as sunk cost theme.
Jose may be a horrible defender but he at least helps offensively.
And maybe a triple-double tonight. Has Bargs ever come close?
    1 board right now.
    What a waste.
I’m going to read Jays trade updates now.

  3. Did the Raptors just win. Pinch me

  4. What an atrocity that game was, should be interesting to see how Joseph spins it positively.

  5. That last quarter was horrendous. How did both teams shoot bad? Why was amir shooting a three? Why didn’t anyone cut infront to open for a pass? Our offense is as bad as our defense. Great job guys. On the road to .500

    • We kept running that pick and roll with Jose and Amir with everyone standing around the 3-point line. If it didn’t work the first two times, I don’t see how it’ll work the third time.
