The Return Of Lowry

Christmas comes about six weeks early for Raptors fans, as it has been announced that Kyle Lowry will return to the lineup tonight in his hometown of Philadelphia.

Jose Calderon will remain the team’s starter while Lowry eases back into the lineup, but if Kyle can approach the level of play he was at before the ankle injury (he currently leads the NBA in PER in an obviously much smaller sample size than the rest of the pack), he should take his rightful place back sooner rather than later.

I just hope that fools don’t try to start an actual point guard controversy if Lowry struggles for a game or two in his earlier than expected return.

  1. I’m with you boss – fans of the Raps who think Calderon should start over Lowry are fans with poor evaluations on what talent is and what it takes to win….regardless of what happens tonight But if you want to hear it, go visit Doug Smiths blog tomorrow – his man love for Calderon and the 8 followers of his will be discussing it all day.

  2. I would have liked to see Lowry wait until he was 100%, but I guess with the upcoming schedule and some very winnable games, I can see why they might want him back early to help get those much needed wins.

  3. Perhaps this injury has allowed Calderon to build some trade value?
