At the end of the day, it was a matchup between the Eastern Conference’s 11th and 12th placed teams, and the Raptors blew another double-digit fourth quarter lead in the process, but hey, a W is a W, and if not for DeMar DeRozan at the buzzer, the Raptors don’t get this W tonight.
Here’s the Orlando version of the call and here’s the play in GIF form:
Considering how many times this has happened to the Raptors over the years and considering how many heartbreakers they’ve lost this season, I was impressed by how composed DeRozan kept himself after hitting the dagger. On the other hand, his teammates weren’t able to contain themselves, and neither was his coach.
DeMar’s been struggling lately and has been criticized in a lot of my recent postgame thoughts blogs, but other than his missed box out on E’Twaun Moore’s game-tying offensive rebound and shot, he brought it down the stretch in Orlando, scoring 14 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter.
He also did this…
