The Raptors look to sweep a home-and-home with the Bulls and take the season series in the process, while Chicago tries to keep pace in the battle for Eastern Conference playoff positioning.
Start time: 7:00 PM ET
Probable starting lineups
Toronto: Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, Rudy Gay, Amir Johnson, Aaron Gray
Chicago: Kirk Hinrich, Marco Belinelli, Jimmy Butler, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer
Toronto: Jonas Valanciunas, Terrence Ross, Landry Fields and Andrea Bargnani are all out
Chicago: Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson and Derrick Rose are out
- When teams head into “playing out the string” territory but they also likely won’t have a draft pick to tank for, watching the team’s rookies is often all fans have to look forward to. Unfortunately for Raptors fans, Jonas Valanciunas and Terrence Ross are out tonight, so here’s hoping Quincy Acy gets plenty of minutes and supplies us with enough rookie excitement.
- The Bulls are still banged up and are coming off of an emotional overtime victory over the Knicks in Chicago last night, so the also banged up Raptors might actually have a shot tonight. Having said that, a combination of Deng, Boozer, Butler and Robinson is more than enough to beat the Raptors on any given night.
- The Raptors only have three remaining games after tonight, so in the event that Valanciunas doesn’t play again this year, here’s my take on his rookie season.
- The Bulls are currently in fifth place in the East and are pretty much out of the running for a top-four seed, but they’re also just a half-game ahead of the Hawks for sixth, so there is still something to play for.
