The Raptors and Knicks came together for a truly ugly game of basketball on Wednesday night at The Garden, but Toronto came out on the right side of that slug fest to carry a four-game winning streak into the All-Star break.

Denver Nuggets v Toronto Raptors

Rudy Gay played the hero again, as the Raptors edged the Nuggets on Gay’s game-winner with 4.8 seconds left on the clock.

The Raptors got off to a hot start against the Nuggets thanks to a bevy of first quarter fast breaks and dunks, but they actually could have built an even bigger lead if not for a couple of miscues on alley-oop attempts from Rudy Gay to DeMar DeRozan.

I guess by the second quarter, DeRozan just figured he didn’t need an alley-oop pass to get in on the fun, courtesy of the oft-posterized Timofey Mozgov:

Boston Celtics v Toronto Raptors

If it wasn’t obvious coming into the game, it should be painfully obvious after this game. The Celtics are a veteran playoff team and the Raptors are an inexperienced, surefire lottery team…albeit without an actual lottery pick.
