Detroit Pistons v Toronto Raptors

With Andrea Bargnani set to be out of the picture come July 10, the next move Masai Ujiri makes will likely be the move that gives us an indication one way or the other whether the Raptors will be looking to go “Diggin’ For Wiggins” next season or will be looking to take a step forward.

If the Detroit Pistons have their way, they’d reportedly like to take Gay and his maximum salary off of Ujiri’s hands while presenting Toronto with a prime opportunity to tank…

Toronto Raptors v Golden State Warriors

UPDATE 2: After reports of the deal not getting NBA approval and the teams needing to restructure it in some way, Raptors fans began to worry, and rightfully so when you consider some of the potential Raps deals that have fallen through in recent years (Tyson Chandler and Matt Barnes come to mind). Luckily however, the deal was apparently completed after all, though it still can’t become official until the NBA’s moratorium on player movement ends on July 10.

UPDATE 1: The deal has reportedly been agreed to, and is now just awaiting league approval. In addition, Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Raptors are actually getting THREE picks in return, a first rounder in 2016 and two future second rounders.

2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest

With the Draft behind us and free agency negotiations set to begin next week, we’ll have plenty of rumours and reports to sift through and discuss over the next little while, and the first one comes to us from ESPN’s Marc Stein, who writes that the Raptors “have joined the Orlando Magic at the head of the list of known suitors for Los Angeles Clippers guard Eric Bledsoe, according to sources close to the process.”

Toronto Raptors v Houston Rockets

If you thought Wednesday’s season finale meant things would be slow in Raptor Land, think again. On Thursday, Bill Simmons published Part 1 of his annual list of the NBA’s top 50 most valuable assets, which included Jonas Valanciunas at No. 44 (just ahead of Enes Kanter and Andre Drummond, just behind Kenneth Faried).

Golden State Warriors v Toronto Raptors

After a crazy couple of months of Raptors-related trade rumours in January and February and an actual blockbuster in the process, I didn’t think we’d be talking about potential moves again until at least April.

So much for that, as Marc Spears reported in his weekly power rankings (where the Raptors held firm at No. 20) that according to a source, “the Raptors are looking for a veteran power forward and could make a run at Golden State’s Carl Landry if he opts out of his deal this summer.”

For what it’s worth, it was also Spears last week who revealed reports of Bryan Colangelo “likely” making an extension offer to Rudy Gay this summer.
