The Raptors dropped a 101-89 decision to the Timberwolves on Wednesday night to fall to 1-1 in the pre-season, but the real story is that the exhibition campaign is already a quarter of the way done (Thank God).

Since the results and individual games don’t actually matter, I’ll just post some thoughts and observations on each player through two games.

October brings about a fascination with subjective NBA player rankings as a new season draws near, so why not get in on the fun with a 2013-14 edition of RaptorsRank?

Here you’ll find my rankings of all 14 players currently on the Raptors roster, along with a brief analysis of each player. I’ve also included three tables of advanced stats from last season – Regularized Adjusted Plus Minus, Win Shares and Player Efficiency Rating (Note: These are the same three metrics Ben Golliver and Rob Mahoney┬áincluded in their top-100 list for SI.com).

For the record and for reference in future debates, these rankings are not measured by which player is the most naturally talented or by empty offensive numbers. These are my rankings of each player’s effectiveness on an NBA court heading into the 2013-14 season, based on what I’ve seen from each player over the last year and what I expect from each player this year.

With training camp underway, an intrasquad game coming up this weekend and the pre-season now just days away, it’s time to take a look at the questions I’ll be hoping the next four weeks answer with regards to specifics about the Raptors’ roster.

To me, the pre-season is about staying healthy first and foremost, getting a good read on lineups and rotations and carving out indivual players’ roles. I couldn’t care less about what the Raptors record is when the exhibition season comes to an end on October 25, but I am hoping these five questions will be answered:
