Rumours are flying around regarding NBA free agency: “LeBron and Bosh to join Wade on Heat,” “Joe Johnson’s No. 1 choice is the Knicks,” “Peanut butter to start chains which house everything peanut butter.”
Some or all of these might end up happening, but there’s one report which will most definitely become reality: Chris Bosh will play basketball somewhere other than Toronto next season.
I know, it’s not revolutionary, but when thinking through Bosh’s rationale to leave his original team, I can see why he wouldn’t do it to himself again. Chris is a proud man, but his shoulders have started to slump while wearing the red and white.
Here’s a tidy list of why CB4 won’t play in Toronto this fall.
- Too many teammates not working their asses off on any given night.
- Hedo Turkoglu.
- Seven years, zero second round playoff appearances.
- Centres starting beside him over those seven years included: Loren Woods, Rafael Araujo, Aaron Williams, Jake Voskuhl, Patrick O’Bryant.
- Charlie Villanueva said it.
- Four more years of a small forward who’s owed an average of $11 million per year and averaged 41% shooting and 11 points per game last season.
- Five more years of having to compensate for a “centre” in Andrea Bargnani who averaged six rebounds last season (Note: Bosh has come out and declared he will play power forward for his next team).
- Lack of recognition in American media outlets while he plays for that “foreign” team that can do no right.
- A small forward who plays like the world is owed to him.
- The “True Blood” schedule on Canadian television really stinks.

Bosh is gone cause the team failed to build around him first and foremost and it’s really pathetic how many fresh starts Colangelo tried to make for the team and still kept Bargnani around despite the fact Bosh needs a big body banging with him in the post to make all the weight off his shoulders.
That said, good luck finding a competent center with vet minimum guys in Miami.
