On today’s FIBA World Championship episode, Skeets and Tas breakdown Thursday’s two quarterfinal matchups. Topics include: Lithuania’s ridiculous three-point shooting (8-for-8 at one point!), doubling Scola on the block, Russia’s valiant effort vs. The Americans, “Spark Plug” Westbrook, Durantula’s “cool” 33, FIBA’s handling of the 24-second shot clock, water, tables and more. 2. Nope. We were just feelin’ it today.

  3. That’s going to stain, Tas.

  4. Nah. Stains can’t stain.

  5. That was one of the worst “Shana Tova” I’ve ever heard Skeets, LOL.

  6. lol @ Sam^ , agreed!

  7. The small OCD in me wanted to clean the table the entire time you guys talked. -_-

  8. I think Coach K and David Blatt should have a dance-off to determine who is the rightful winner of the 1972 Summer Olympics game.

  9. i think fiba duscussed changing their goaltending rules to that of the nba and not the other way around

  10. Nope.

Sheridan, ESPN: “The secretary general of FIBA, the governing body of international basketball, would like to see the NBA change its goaltending rules to allow players to knock the ball off the rim.

The official, Patrick Baumann, made the comment during a lunch meeting with eight selected American and European journalists Thursday before the final two quarterfinal games at the FIBA World Championship.

FIBA rules allow players to knock the ball off the rim after it touches the cylinder, whereas in the NBA that would constitute a goaltending violation.”

  11. The FIBA 24 second shot clock and goal tending rules are much better. I don’t understand offensive goal tending. The aim of the game to put the ball in the hoop. Technically you could argue that dunking is goal tending based on the NBA rule.

  12. Are you guys going to do a viewer questions segment for the World Championships?
