The Basketball Jones is getting you caught up on all 30 NBA teams before the season starts October 26. Up next, Rocky Balboa’s favorite team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

  1. 40-42 is pretty generous no? Given that though Evan Turner has huge upside he was dismal in the only “pro” showings we’ve seen of him (i.e. Summer League).

  2. 40 wins seems a bit generous considering the baffling Dalembert trade, but this team really isn’t much different from the 08 and 09 teams. 35 wins is my prediction.

On a side note, whats the new TBJ song?

  3. Sixers? Are they much better than last year? Doubt it. They can make 30 or 35 but not 40. No way.
BTW: I need to know what that song is…

  4. Jaceman: Sixers will regret taking Turner over Cousins, no matter how much trouble he is off the court. Turner will be a good player, but never a star. His absolute ceiling is Caron Butler and even that’s unlikely.

Liam – I actually liked the Dalembert trade. Hawes isn’t as good on D, but he’s a better all around player, younger and his contract isn’t the grenade that Sammy’s was.

  5. Love the Colbert God machine-style Mystery Chest segment. You guys need to come up with some A Capella background music for that (Dirty Talk?), Also, if you can’t get Trey to get his caption contest going again, you could use those NBA goof-pics for the slideshow for the segment.

  6. That rabbit IS creepy.

  7. “the selected item is not currently available”

“the selected item is not currently available”

“the selected item is not currently available”

success! and then the ad plays 4 times first.

c’mon thescore, get your video player sorted out.

  8. poor Iggy cant make the all star team even if he plays sg. could EB ever get back from his clipper days?

  9. Is this on iTunes or is my subscription being screwy?

  10. @former: We are working on it man. Hang in there.

@Duncan: It’s not posted yet, we’re working on fidelity issues on that end as well (See: Celtics Preview in iTunes).

  11. Hey Tas. Loving your work. The old TBJ desk seems a distant memory (even though I kind of miss it). Who knew you’d both be TV naturals…

  12. idk, this Sixers team is kinda puzzling… how are they gonna play fast with guys like Brand, Noc and Hawes? Or slow with Iggy and Lou Williams?
I dont know enough about Holiday or Turner, but this team just seems to be built wrong in some way…

40 is really if everything clicks right… a bit generous like the fellows above said..

  13. Tas to Hip Hop: “Why do you wear that stupid bunny suit?”

Hip Hop to Tas: “Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?”

  14. I just blew your mind, didn’t I Tas? Your asking yourself, “Why AM I wearing this stupid man suit…?” With his ego stripped away, and no where to turn for answers with Amare naked and spiritually lost himself, Tas goes on season long hiatus. Travels to Tibet in search of answers from The Dalai Lama. Or he just gets really drunk and calls Richard Kelly…

  15. You may have blew my mind but you got the journey order all wrong. Dalai Lama? I’ve heard him speak. Meh. I would just stay sober, and hang with Kels.

  16. I’ll see your “Meh.” and raise you a “Life is a sport. Drink it up”… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2t7l_hhEyQ

  17. It’s all about the journey Tas. Mike knew that, or he wouldn’t have gone all that way just for another drink of cold high fructose corn syrup and to have some fake Dalai Lama guy join him in being a corporate whore and bringing shame to Tibetans and Buddhists everywhere. After remembering his journey, I’d have to agree with you. I’d rather hang with Mr. Kelly than the Dalai Lama…

Tas: “I am not going to be able to continue this conversation.”

    Me: “Why?”

Tas: “I could lose my job.”

  18. Incredible! This blog looks exactly like my old one!
It’s on a entirely different subject but it has pretty much the same layout and design.
    Superb choice of colors!

  19. Hi, I think your blog might be having browser compatibility issues.

When I look at your blog in Opera, it looks fine but when opening
in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping. I just
wanted to give you a quick heads up! Other then that, great blog!
