The Basketball Jones is getting you caught up on all 30 NBA teams before the season starts October 26. Up next, your Australian grandfather’s favorite team not located in Essendon, the Milwaukee Bucks.

  1. 50 wins for a team that starts Corey Maggette, Drew Gooden and John Salmons not playing for contracts, Brandon Jennings (37.1% FG), and Andrew Bogut’s left arm? Yikes.

Only you can make this right, TBJ. Only you can break the ice inside of me.

  2. Wow. 49 wins? That is generous.

  3. I love Rad! “Send Me An Angel,” Skeets!

The Bucks were my second-favorite team last year, except that they were so bad offensively that I could hardly watch. But Bogut is awesome. Here’s to a speedy full recovery and none of that 85-90% crap.

  4. wow around 50 wins? doubt that.

  5. I’m ok with the “around 50″ prediction… Not really more than 50 ‘tho….
I mean: those guys are mostly gonna play Eastern conf. teams.

Besides the 3 contenders, only the Hawks will give them fits…

  6. It’s all on Bogut — if he performs reasonably close to last year, fifty is doable.

An email I wrote a week or two ago:
How are the Bucks not going to get to 50 wins? After the trade deadline, they won at a .733 percentage. That’s pretty good.

Yes, Jerry Stackhouse and Kurt Thomas performed admirably in their roles (particularly for their ages), and Luke Ridnour had a great, great season. But it’s hard for me to imagine that some combination of Maggette, Gooden, Dooling, Sanders, Boykins, Brockman, Douglas-Roberts, and Hobson won’t be able to improve on those losses.

Are Delfino and Ilyasova going to be tired from Worlds? Probably. Is Bogut going to be 100%? Maybe not. But I can’t stop looking at those lists:

    Post deadline Contributors lost:

    Possible Contributors gained:

How is that not worth 4 wins? Or, projecting from the post-deadline percentage, how is that worth NEGATIVE 10 wins?

Please explain it to me, I just don’t see it. Are the new-look Bulls going to beat them ten more times than last season?

  7. David — you’re absolutely right. My enthusiasm neglected to consider contract year performances. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

  8. I got to watch the newest member of the Bucks, Larry Sanders, play his college back here in Richmond VA at VCU. Dude was beast. Watch this video of him dunking over another new Buck, Tiny Gallon when Oklahoma rolled into town to face my VCU Rams.

  9. what was that songs name, its been bugging me for the last couple of days

thanks to anyone who can tell.

also buck are probably going to be about 47, around their no 50 wins

  10. Heh. Essendon.

My comment is too short? Your Mum’s too short.

  11. Western Suburbs of Melbourne represent!
