Ever since the new big three joined forces in South Beach, there are just as many jumping on the Miami bandwagon as there are NBA fans declaring themselves Heat haters. The Lakers remain the consensus pick to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy despite the James-Wade-Bosh hype. However, Lake Show fans may feel overshadowed as the team to beat, thanks to the non-stop Heat merchandise and fanfare.
Last night, UNDFTD‘s newest pro Lakers garb was leaked by Eddie Cruz, the man behind the sports influenced clothing brand. Last season, the brand came out with a series of tees and special edition Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star sneakers to support the hometown Lakers playoff run and eventual championship. For this release UNDFTD (say “undefeated”) uses their trademark stark stenciling style to smack talk Riley’s boys in purple and gold. It’s also very convenient that the five strikes UNDFTD logo echos the five NBA championships won by Kobe Bryant.
The Lakers don’t get to challenge the Heat until Christmas day, but the trash talk can begin as early as Friday when the t-shirt drops. You can get your own at the UNDFTD online store or their chapter shops on October 22nd for $30.
