TBJ Top 5, featuring Smiley John

There are only two games on tonight’s NBA schedule. That means a few things. One, it’s a lot easier to focus on what’s actually happening in the games, rather than worrying what’s going on a few channels over. Two, if you have a DVR — or PVR, Canadians — you can mix in a little regular TV with your NBA watching. And three, it’s a lot easier to pick games for tonight’s TBJ Top 5.

Washington Wizards at Orlando Magic
Truth be told, this game would top the docket most nights. Between John Wall’s debut, the opening of Orlando’s new Amway Center and way too many viewings of Dwight Howard working out with Hakeem Olajuwon, there’s a lot to enjoy here. The only thing missing is Adam Morrison. He’ll be there in spirit.

Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz
Not only do you get to marvel at Deron Williams and Steve Nash doing amazing things with a basketball, you also get to see Hedo Turkoglu trying to guard Al Jefferson. If his performance against the Trail Blazers is any indication, that’ll be high comedy.

The Basketball Jones series premiere
Yeah, that’s a real thing that’s happening tonight. If you’re a Canadian, you should watch it. If you’re not, you should think about how lucky Canadians are. And if you’re a tech-savvy Canadian, you know what to do.

Tonight is the Halloween episode of everyone’s favorite meta-sitcom. Last year’s was an instant classic and I challenge you to watch this preview and tell me tonight’s won’t be the same. (NBC 8pm ET)

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
This show can be hit or miss, but it’ been pretty good the last few weeks, especially when the gang bought a boat. Tonight, they finally address the pregnancy of Kaitlin Olson (“Dee” on the show) and the previews looked hilarious. (FX 10pm ET)

  1. Yeah, for real. Is there a @jose3030 that lives in Canada? like a @Josiah3030 or something?

  2. anyone got a stream of the show?

  3. epic fail on finding a stream, hope it gets downloaded somewhere. and in its entirety.

  4. Love the passive aggressive finger to international copyright issues keeping great content from eager viewers. Especially coming from the producers of the show.

  5. If anybody does find a link, they should probably repeat it over the course of several posts, which for TBJ would constitute about half an hour. I have never, ever come across a basketball blog that is more blissfully virulent.

  6. Yeah! Someone upload an illegal rip already!

  7. Missed the first ten minutes due to a power outage but caught the rest of the show. Great job guys, I was really surprised at how at ease you were, no jitters or anything. Keep up the good work.

  8. Judging from the way John Wall played tonight, I’m going to go ahead and put my life savings on Blake Griffin for RoY.

  9. It was a great show last night. Matty O’s contributions were great, and although the Paul Pierce reenactment didn’t go as smoothly as it could have, it was still pretty sweet.
