I know you all couldn’t sleep last night, wondering about the thrilling conclusion to the NBA scandal of the year — Derrick Rose skipping out on his cameo on “The Good Wife.” That is understandable because this is a huge story, filled with national intrigue and Hollywood insider politics that us peasants are rarely privy to.
Thankfully, Derrick Rose opened up about missing his shot at television stardom to ESPN’s Nick Friedell. And, as you’ll see, you and Rose might have a little bit in common, what with the whole sleepiness thing.
“I overslept,” Rose said after Thursday morning’s shootaround. “It’s nothing big or anything like that that I thought of. You can ask anybody that I worked with: Was I a problem on set or did I have a problem showing up? I always showed up early. I’m sorry I missed it. That’s not my character where I ‘big time’ that type of show.
“If anything, I would love to be on that show. But I overslept, and they put a whole ‘nother twist in the story that they heard they were ringing the bell, or somebody came out and said [I] wasn’t going in a disrespectful way but it wasn’t [anything] like that.” [...]
Rose said he would still like to appear on various shows in the future.
“If the timing’s right, it would be perfect,” he said. “But if it’s a little off … I’m sorry that I missed it, but hopefully I get another chance.”
Finally, some reason in this crazy world we live in. I’m sure everyone was very upset that they won’t get to see D-Rose on America’s favorite television show about a wife standing by her adulterous husband (political division), but I think we can admit that we’ve all overslept for something before. Not to mention, I’m sure he’s not the first person to have slept through “The Good Wife.”
That being said, I think someone should start a Facebook campaign to ensure that Rose has his cameo on the show. That series wasn’t nominated for the 2010 Emmy in Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series out of nowhere. They know a good actor when they see it. Derrick Rose just needs his shot.
