Who you talkin’ to, Hollis?
Join The Jones on a sonic journey as we welcome Yahoo! Sports columnist Adrian Wojnarowski to breakdown LeBron James’ anticipated return to Cleveland. What was the atmosphere like in the building? Should the Cavs have been more physical with LeBron? Who actually controls The King’s decision-making? And, oh, is Woj a “LeBron hater”?
All that, plus Trey Kerby stops by to bring you the best stories from the NBA blogosphere — steam rooms, Artest jokes, Tony Parker’s video game ratings, more — and TBJ correspondent, Andrew Unterberger, also updates us from the halfway point of his epic “30 NBA arenas in 60 days” journey.
So give your eyes a rest and embrace this audio explosion.

Hey i was logged in as J.E. Skeets a couple times when I opened this up in another tab, you might want to look into that.
About the show, the man you had on your show was very different than the person who writes those “articles” for yahoo. I’m very surprised that your interview with Woj didn’t take some sort of dungeons and dragon, lord of the rings fantasy type of tone the way all of his articles seem to take. If he wrote with the same tone that he interviews in I really think that he wouldn’t have so many haters and people calling him a hack, namely me for one.
good stuff as always
LeBron is not sorry and he doesn’t care. He sees nothing wrong with what he did. His only regret is that he didn’t expect the reaction he received.
And while I love to read Woj, it’s a good thing he’s not a public speaker.
Great show guys
Oh and TRADE KOBE!!!!!! HE’S A CANCER, THE LAKERS NEED CHEMO!!!!!
JJ Hickson’s facial expression in the above photo…………. AH-MAY-ZING.
you guys should do a Woj/Zach Randolph “you know” mashup
Illmatic is right on. That interview Wojo did for this show made him actually sound objective and reasonable and balanced. The problem is that a lot of the stuff he writes feels totally sensationalized, and it’s hard not to feel like he’s just trying to attract readers by blowing things out of proportion. Because of this, it’s hard to trust that he is actually reporting accurately. It feels more like he’s trying to exagerate.
Some quotes just from recent pieces that I think illustrate this.
“The fundamental problem for Spoelstra isn’t that James doesn’t respect coaches – he doesn’t respect people.”
“Lucas never walked onto the floor and eyed the most vulnerable and frightened foe. He picked out the biggest bleeping guy, started on him, and no one ever had reason to doubt his ferocity………………Lucas died this week. He was 58 and lost his life to bladder cancer. Apparently, Garnett honored that memory with the mocking of the Detroit Pistons’ bald forward, Charlie Villanueva(notes), on Tuesday night.”
Hard to take either of those seriously. How could he possibly assert that LeBron does not respect other people. Why does he try to make it seem like KG was disrespecting Maurice Lucas. Hard to treat this stuff with any type of seriousness.
another dope show. i love reading woj’s articles glad you guys got him on. lebrons a punk and the media did a good job at completely over hyping his return to cleveland, the cavs players obviously didnt care about the game only the fans did. will lebron throw the powder? will he say anything? will a fan attempt to murder him? get extra security! pleaseee, cavs fans need to boo the cavs out of the building from now on.
“”People comment on it”" ? Too bad they disable the comment section on Yahoo. They know everybody going to write that he’s a hack and licks Dan Gilberts golden testicules every night. Its bullshit over and over again. This guy is a terrible speaker, and he’s even a worse writer.
he certainly writes a lot better than he speaks. how many times can a professional personnel say the word “you know”? aside from that, it was interesting to hear his side of the story
Wojnarowski is The Truth, step aside Paul Pierce!
Looking forward to next time you guys have him on the show.
@nickl actually, just about everything this guy has written about in the past ended up being true. he could tone it down a bit when it comes to criticizing the players personally and i think that’s part of the reason people get upset at him, including me at times. i’ve been upset with his writing many times, but all the stuff he reported were true. Remember those articles that detailed the situation with Tmac? I was upset at what was being written, but at the end of it, he was right. He hasn’t been wrong about Lebron either. Do you honestly believe, based on everything Lebron has done in his career, that he respects anyone? You should look up the clip of what he says to his mother on youtube. It’s pretty freakin obvious that the guy really thinks of himself as King and wants to obey no one. Why you would defend that aspect of his personality beats me.
There’s one Fuddruckers in Canada. It’s in Saskatoon and it’s terrific.
Tas– Whataburger is overrated? I thought they’re a great place, on par with the beloved In N Out (which is also a must stop when you’re driving through the Western states).
@tupark, that is true. And, the guy obviously has more inside info than we do. Maybe it just sounds too similar to ranting fans. I guess, at worse, he’s no worse than a lot of the guys. Everyone needs to make their stories exciting.
Ah ha ha Skeets! The Rick and Rod Reynolds reference!!!
Makes me wanna go and wear some white and yellow BMX pants with my name written on the arse.
I know this is probably asked a lot, but what is the theme song??
Actually no, screw that. I was drunk last night when I wrote that “you’re right” thing, and I was in a good move after crushing the Bulls.
Yes, Wojo is right about a lot. And, I guess phantom sources are part of today’s coverage. But, he still goes over the top when he attacks these guys and it’s bullshit. That KG article really upset me.
