It is good to be back in the swing of things, Jonesers. The holidays are great and filled with Andrew Bogut jerseys, but sometimes you have to say, “No more ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.’ I don’t care if he’s seven but looks a lot older.” Let’s do this thing. Lots of weird matchups tonight, but that can be fun. Enjoy it.
Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Clippers
This game’s probably not going to be “good” by any conventional measure. But, I’d bet, it’s going to feature some Blake Griffin dunks and some Deron Williams crossovers, and that’s pretty chill. Also, points, which are also chill. Lots of chill happening here.
Denver Nuggets at Minnesota Timberwolves
The two fastest teams in the Western Conference pair up for some basketball action. That’s basically the plot for “Wild Wild West,” only more hoopsy and less Will Smithsy.
Miami Heat at Houston Rockets
These teams are a combined 17-3 in their last 20 games. They’re both top 10 offensive teams in the NBA. They both have hilarious centers that prefer to shoot jumpers over anything else. Nice action here.
Los Angeles Lakers at New Orleans Hornets
If this were the third week of the season, this’d be the game of the night. Instead, it’s the third month of the season — technically, at least — and both of these teams are playing average basketball. Still, Kobe, CP3 and the rest of the gang should be good.
Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards
Kind of just have a good feeling about this game. Something weird’s going to happen. Maybe Nick Young and Danny Granger will have a conversation about their favorite Nick Cannon movie or something.
