This is just piling on. Doc Rivers, after the Celtics’ loss to the Clippers last night, via the Boston Globe:

“No one cried,’’ said Doc Rivers. “We lost the game. We’re good.’’

That’s a deep burn. And, I’m hoping, the beginning of a new NBA meme — coaches reporting on whether or not their team cried after any loss.

It’d be hilarious if every coach in the league bought in to this, and every time their team loses they come out of the locker room telling reporters the tears status of their squad. “Nope, still didn’t cry tonight. Anyone have any questions?” The best. Erik Spoelstra probably disagrees, but he’ll get over it.

After all, it’s just “sensationalism.” No bigs.
