Modern medicine, look what you’ve done to the true warriors of our time. 17 months after Manu Ginobili was heralded for suavely swatting a bat out of mid-air during a Kings visit to San Antonio, he wanted no part of the exact same opportunity last night. Manu cited the eight rabies shots he had to take as the reason he gave this larger creature the “Mutombo finger wag”. And, apparently, it didn’t even die this time. Pfft.

  1. I don’t know if anyone at TBJ will be reading this but, I just cam across something pretty funny while reading my highschool literature. Im a freshman in highschool, and as a requirement we must read the book ‘their eyes were watching god’ by Zora Neale Hurston. Oddly enough, there is a poor character in the book named Matt Bonner, all the townsmen make fun of the way Bonner treats his mule, and how ugly the creature is, matt’s mule eventually runs away and is treated poorly by the men that find his animal. thanks TBJ i know its not much, but within my 50 pages of reading due i found it mildly amusing

  2. @reub – I just texted Bonner about it. We’ll see if he knows the character.

And, of course, we read the comments!

Thanks a lot for the note.

  3. PETA bullshit aside, I wish they’d stop it with the bats. google ‘white nose syndrome’ sometime. the bats are dyin’ dudes!

  4. Ah man I hate when the Tube does that!! Any other link?
