Cleveland Cavaliers 102, Miami Heat 90
If you were ranking the schadenfreude-iest things to happen to the Heat this year, losing to the Cavs in Cleveland might take the cake. It’s somewhere up there with their five game losing streak, that time Chris Bosh got hit in the face with a ball and CryGate. Not sure where PoopGate falls, but it’s my personal favorite.
Houston Rockets 112, New Jersey Nets 87
Don’t speak, I know what you’re thinking — yes, the Rockets really are only two games out of the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. Games against the Kings, Clippers and Timberwolves helps their cause, while matchups with the Spurs and Mavericks definitely doesn’t. Also not in their favor, the eighth place Grizzlies have a very easy schedule the rest of the way.
Oklahoma City Thunder 115, Golden State Warriors 114 OT
Even though this was a fun game with a crazy ending and Oklahoma City pulled it out, you have to wonder about the Thunder. Not just because it’s a nice rhyme, but giving up six points in eight seconds to send the game to overtime is pretty bad, especially in a season that’s seen their defense drop off a cliff. That being said, it’s safe to assume Daequan Cook won’t be seeing many late game playoff minutes. Hopefully.
Sacramento Kings 116, Phoenix Suns 113
Unless the Kings can pull off a win against the Jazz on Sunday, this might be the last win by the franchise while playing in Sacramento. Other than that, it’s home games against the Nuggets, Lakers and Thunder that are left. Hope everyone enjoyed this one because it might be the last good Kings memory in Sactown. Sad.
