Memphis Grizzlies 114, Oklahoma City Thunder 101
34 points on 22 shots, 10 rebounds, two assists and three steals for Zach Randolph who also went 9-9 from the line and 1-1 from three. That incredible performance adds him to this hilarious list of guys who have scored 30 or more while not missing and free throws or threes. Sure, Hakeem Olajuwon, Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki are fine company, but Andres Nocioni and some guy named John Bagley aren’t exactly NBA legends. Great list. Of course, if you factor in the 10 boards, this line becomes even more exclusive. Zach’s great.
Miami Heat 99, Boston Celtics 90
Good win for the Heat. They protected home court, stood up to Boston trying to rough them up and held the Celtics to 101 points per 100 possessions, which is what the Milwaukee Bucks — the NBA’s worst offensive team — averaged for the season. That is all very good stuff. However, you have to be a little concerned that this game was still close Dwyane Wade going 14-21 and James Jones going 5-7 from three while making 10 free throws. Feels a bit fluky, considering the only other time in Jones’ career that he’s even attempted 10 or more freebies was in January 2006. Great win, but do it a second time and that’ll really prove something.
