If there were a way to describe a two-time defending champion being swept by a lower seeded team by a combined 56 points in a single play, it would be this wide-open missed layup/dunk by Ron Artest from last night’s season-ending loss to the Mavericks. Whether it’s a metaphor for “coming up short” or “not being able to flip the switch” or “not being good enough,” it fits like a pair of barely too-short shorts.

  1. They had the same record.

  2. And Dallas was the lower seed, which is why the Lakers had home court advantage.

  3. There goes C Webb’s comment that the Lakers ahve the edge :))
