There is no guarantee of success for NBA draft picks, even those at the front end. Everyone remembers Michael Olowokandi and Kwame Brown, but let’s be positive and think about successful first-year players, specifically those that won the NBA Rookie of the Year hardware.

  1. I’m pretty sure in 06/07, Randy Foye actually won the ROY, completely justifying McHale’s decision to trade Roy straight up for him. That’s definitely what happened.
