I wish I could tell you that “Penny Hardaway” by the Cool Kids and Ghostface Killah is all about the YouTube legend’s basketball skills, inventive flattop and impeccable Nike shoe line, but it’s really just a hook in a song about being fresh to death. Being a personification of doing your thing isn’t bad, but I’d really appreciate three to four minutes of rhyming about how great Penny Hardaway was. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
Nonetheless, this is still better than the time Penny showed up in a Coolio song.
Check out the track and let us know what you think.

Not too shabby, but I prefer rap featuring old-time NBA hoopsters — “Slick Watts” by the Blue Scholars. Shout-outs start at 2:05 — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGGJz6qDAiY
Cool Kids always got that hot shit
Less hi-hat ping, more lo-fi boom.
Heard better from them, but I guess it’s oh-kay.
