As an avid fan of the 1998-2003 era of Cash Money Records, let me tell you that this is the best subliminal lockout zing you’ll ever witness. It’s two NBA players rapping along to the Big Tymers’ “Stay Fly” and it’s a clear shot at the owners and how their despicable behavior won’t stop the Players Union from leading their lives.

“Gator Boots, with the pimped out Gucci suit / Ain’t got no job, but I stay sharp / Can’t pay my rent, cause all my money’s spent / but thats OK, cause I’m still fly” is the “Talking Union” of these troubled times, and Mannie Fresh and Birdman are our Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. Fight the power. Unity. Other buzzwords.

  1. socks w/ the balls on it! classic! D Howard a man of many talents

  2. Isn’t it weird that Dwight included the hair pick with the Superman logo seeing as the song has a reference to Shaq being Superman? We all know Dwight isn’t the real Superman, but using a song with a Shaq/Superman reference and using the Superman logo hair pick seems to just draw attention to it.

Having said that, hilarious video. It’s a great song and the idea is apropos of their circumstance.

Too bad they couldn’t get Chris Andersen in the video. The Birdman flies win any weather.

  3. They need to do some Juve’ Reality Check Katrina era.

  4. the lockout turns out to be hilarious
