A professional basketball player cramming a body’s worth of ink in to a jersey-shaped swath of skin so that he maintains his nice guy marketability is the epitome of business tattoos. Too funny. Gotta stay family-friendly.

  1. He looks 15 years older on that picture ! The other thing is, you have to live it up or just don’t get tattoos. But that business kind of way is just wrong !

  2. Couldn’t it be argued that it’s not business — it’s personal.

  3. He’s got an outie!

  4. I’m usually a pretty staunch defender of guys who don’t want to bulk up, since I think raw strength is overrated for many players and suddenly adding a bunch of weight can lead to injuries.

But good lord, Kevin Durant. Build up your core some.

  5. That’s gross. This site is too pop tabloid for me.

  6. Wait, are does real tattoos?

  7. So real.

  8. its been a little tabloid as of late, but thats because of the lockout, only so many kobe playing in italy rumors you can post everyday. As far as durant thats the second reason I hate him, first is because im a blazer fan, second is he has the most inflated persona as a nice guy and “competitor”. I see no difference between this and prop joe wearing a suit on an 85 degree day, if you have tats be real about it, KD, not everyone is tim tebow

  9. Look the part, be the part, etc.

  10. I didn’t think it was possible for KD to earn more of my respect until now… Of course ruining his clean-cut marketing image comes into play but I’m not so sure he would ever receive visible tatts regardless. I like to think that KD cares more about the message he sends out to the public, mainly the youth. Tattoos are an expression of art; there should be a personal meaning involved. When half the NBA players are fully-covered in ink they send an irresponsible message to young America. Do you have any idea how much money those players spend on tattoos? KD doesn’t want people spedning their whole paychecks to look like him. People should care more about getting jobs nowadays. Like Durantala, I only have tattoos on my torso so I’m understandably biased. Kevin Durant, Pure Class

  11. The nipples and the tats almost make a face.

It’s a good thing those are under his shirt, because those are by far the worst tattoos I’ve ever seen.

  12. everyone! have you noted his tattoos biblical messages? i am surprised he has tattoos, but tne messages are positive.

  13. References to his Grandmother and Mother, and religious messages…. and some of you people are saying that…THAT… destroys his “image” as a nice guy? I can’t think of anything that would more solidify it. His tattoos obviously have meaning to him or the wouldn’t reference family and faith. Who wants to bet that the house tattoo is of someplace meaningful as well? Don’t judge someone because they choose to keep something that is meaningful to them to themselves. To each their own.

  14. I’d say the “epitome of business tattoos” is when he got the Walgreens logo on his stomach.

    C’mon, KD!

  15. Atleast his tattoos have meaning to his life, not like those people who put chinese characters on their bodies which they don’t even know what the meaning of that character is.

  16. not walgreens, thats the nationals, he’s from the DC area. I have no problem with tattoos, and for all you parents out there man up and do your job so kevin durant doesn’t have to be your kids role model, charles

  17. Try doing that pose in the mirror. Hands at your hips, shoulders forward. He stands up tall and he doesnt look so weak. The tats are amazing lol.

  18. F the tattoos, I’m more impressed that his facial hair is finally starting to thicken up

  19. Another religious dude… Just great…

  20. JJStrokes, Mike Morris and Dancer: well-said! The guy is a great player and more importantly a great person. By all means, he should be chastised for these favorable qualities. As for his “slight” build…it’s unfortunate that he can’t seem to play the game well because of it. As an OKC native, believe me when I say this, his actions speak even louder than his words. He IS a good guy with great skils who happens to care about people, the community, his family and his faith. He’s a good public role model and plays some awesome hoops. Tats are a very personal freedom of expression. Good on him (see JJStrokes & Dancer comments) Tats all I have to say about the matter.

  21. [...] Kerby under OKC Thunder, Tattoos on Jul 25, 2011 Just like a lot of NBA players, Kevin Durant has a chest and stomach covered in tattoos. Just like a lot of NBA fans, none of Durant’s tattoos are visible if he’s wearing the [...]
