About a year ago, Chris Bosh started the first stages of his back tattoo, going with some sort of theme that involves a craggly tree, Nordic imagery, music notes and a panther. Your guess is as good as mine on that combination. This summer, he got some more added to his back, sitting for hours and hours over the course of three days in Anguilla.

That brings his total time spent on his back tattoo to 40 hours, with another 20 or so to come. That’s two-and-a-half days worth of tattooing, you guys. Extravagant business tattoos take time. The full thing is above, and the detail is right here.

On the left, there are some Roman ruins. I’m guessing that’s because “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” or something like that. On the right, there is a woman eating a skull. Guessing again, but I’d surmise that’s because skulls are delicious. A little grainy, sure, but full of protein.

These new additions took 20-something hours, which means Chris had a lot of time to just sit around.

Smart guy that he is, he brought some movies.

It’s fun to guess which of these Chris picked, and which ones are for his wife. She’s not going to want to watch “Sanctum” eight times in a row, trust me. Off the top of my head, I’d say “True Grit,” “Sanctum,” “The Way Back,” “The Green Hornet,” and “Tron” are Chris picks. The others are for both of them, though I will say that “Gulliver’s Travels” is kind of borderline. Chris Bosh seems like he’d be a huge Jack Black fan.

But hey, when you’re lying on your stomach for hours and hours and hours, you’ve got to watch something. “Tall Justice” read-throughs get boring pretty quick.

  1. The whole thing looks like an epic lost bet.

“We should up the stakes. If I win it’s musical-sabretooth-tiger AND girl-screaming-at-skull time, Chris!”

  2. This is what I imagine it would look like if a 13-year-old goth kid was allowed to get tattoos.

  3. why did he only get one movie on blu-ray and the rest on dvd?

  4. You haven’t seen “The Dilemma” until you’ve seen it on Blu-Ray.

  5. Gullivers Travels is Blu-Ray also

  6. Maybe he is kind of a nerd? Those tattoos look like kind of fantasy-esque to me and he has the original Tron there.

That chick with the skull one is actually kind of cool, but I’d rather see it on the cover of a pulp comic from the 50′s than Chris Bosh’s heartless back.

  9. So ams Due Dates.

  10. What’s up with the woman attacking the skull?

  11. He should get a long-neck dinosaur done next. That would at least make a little sense, no?

  12. Those tats walk a fine line between cool and nerdy. I can’t help liking this guy.

  13. Wouldn’t eating a skull be full of calcium not protein?

  14. A transexual giraffe (with a small head) looking like he’s high pitch squaking/screaming wearing the number 1.
That would be my pick for bosh.

  21. Thanks for this wonderful article. Also a thing is that almost all digital cameras arrive equipped with a zoom lens that permits more or less of any scene to get included through ‘zooming’ in and out. Most of these changes in focusing length are generally reflected in the viewfinder and on large display screen on the back of this camera.

  22. Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your content seem to be running off the screen in Chrome. Hope you get the problem resolved soon. Kudos
