Sad news today, TBJers. Zydrunas Ilgauskas is heading to the home for retired Bond villains. From the Cleveland Plain Dealer’s Reed Boyer:
Former Cavs center Zydrunas Ilgauskas tells the Plain Dealer he is retiring from the NBA after 13 seasons. [...] Ilgauskas: “Enough is enough. My body is beat up and I’m tired physically. There is no age limit, but everyone knows when it’s time.” [...] More Z: “I want to spend more time with my family. I have spent the last 15 years living out of a suitcase.”
We’ll miss you and your tip-ins, Big Z. Tell Dr. No we all said hello.

i guess that money fixed his rash on his left shoulder.. I will miss big Z. he was a good player.
If I didn’t know any better I’d say that his “Then” picture and the “Now” one are reversed. I know they aren’t but is it possible that Big Z was the inspiration for Benjamin Button?
Wow. Incredible. This is very sad. He looked so much happier when he was in Cleveland.
Translation: “Screw you Lebron, I can’t keep believing you’ll win a championship anytime soon”
Look at that Miami tan.
Good riddance, one of the most blatant ring chasers of recent times.
Looks a lot younger to me, than when he was at Cleveland.
Lets hope that the Cavs retire his jersey… And lets also hope that his smile comes out of retirement.
@Sean Rodriguez
I’m sorry, are you serious?
The guy played 12 seasons with the Cavs, half of which were LeBronless… He goes for a ring for his last season (which even the Cavs fans were okay with) and he’s suddenly an asshole?
He certainly isn’t a more blatant ring chaser than Shaq…
You’ll rarely see a more loyal guy than Z… And I don’t even like him all that much…
@Ben H.:
I was thinking just the same :)) Hahaha
BigZ4HOF!
